Kochanoor is a small and beautiful village in Vadakkekad Grama panchayath, Chavakkad thaluk, Thrissur District. Situated 8km far from Guruvayoor and Kunnamkulam. It was the border of old provinces Malabar and Thirukochi before Indian independence, Under Ponnani thaluk. Kochanoor's north border known by the name "Athirthi", that shares with Chammanoor.There was a checkpost at east border. Now Kochanoor is in Vadakkekad Gramapanchayath. Kochanoor shares it's border with Vazhakkayi, Kadappayi, Chakkithara, Palakkuzhi, and Anhilakkadavu farms. The majority of peoples are mainly depending upon Gulf countries and Malaysia.
